Lawyer and Counsel
Mr. Slimani graduated in public international law from the University of Algiers and registered at the Algiers Bar as a lawyer at the court. Mr. Slimani has over sixteen (16) years of experience in business law, legal structure and setting up of large industrial projects in Algeria.
Mr. Slimani began his professional career in 2002 as a lawyer at the Court of Algiers. In 2004, he joined an energy sector company (oil and gas) responsible for setting up business in public-private partnership with foreign investors. As part of his function as Legal Director, he contributed in the legal structure and setting up of several industrial projects in BOT and BOO. Mr. Slimani also participated actively in the implementation of project financing on the Algerian market, according to international standards.
Mr. Slimani is part of the first team that set up project financing according to international standards on the Algerian market with international banks (foreign non-resident) and Algerian public banks. In the energy sector, he had to create more than ten (10) companies under Algerian law with foreign investors. He also worked on the privatization of two public companies. He has been a member of the board of directors of several companies in the energy sector and has worked with the authorities on several occasions for the review of certain laws, including those relating to investment, companies and exchange control in Algeria.
In 2011, Mr. Slimani participated, in the context of the 51/49% rule, in the implementation on the Algerian market of one of the leaders companies of the CAC 40 where he held the position of Legal Director and Chief Compliance Officer (Member of the Executive Committee). He was also appointed President of the Legal and Ethics Commission of the National Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) and actively participates in the events of the Bar Association of Algiers and the International Union of Lawyers (UIA).
